The Hive Makerspace

The Hive is a space for creativity and community. We begin as a paint-your-own-pottery studio, but over the years the Hive will add more creative activities, tools and classes, and become the go-to space in Hereford to make something wonderful, together.

The idea for the Hive was born from Eloise’s endless interest in creativity. She has trained herself in digital illustration, printmaking, crochet, embroidery, needle-felting, pottery, mosaics… but could never focus on just one thing. Finally, in January 2023 she was given a name for this pattern of hobby hopping - ADHD.

This was the missing puzzle piece. After years of not being able to settle down and focus, feeling that whatever she did was not good enough, and not understanding why she found everyday tasks and workplaces so overwhelming, she was finally able to connect with the tools that she needed to live a happier, healthier life as a late-diagnosed neurodivergent, and started building a place that works for her, and the idea for The Hive was born.

A place where you can come and make all the things, together.

What is a makerspace?

A makerspace is like a creative playground for people who love to make things. It's a place where you can use all sorts of tools and materials you may not have access to at home. Whether you want to create art, try a new skill or make something special; a makerspace is the perfect spot to bring your imagination to life.

Makerspaces are also about community; you can learn from others and share your own skills and ideas. So, if you're a hands-on person who enjoys making things, a makerspace is your go-to spot for endless creativity!
