Since opening the studio in December 2023, I’ve run it alone and without respite.

Despite ongoing medical issues and the intense demands of moving, I kept pushing myself — feeling I couldn’t afford to stop and unable to ask for the help I truly needed.

Although I reopened in April, I haven’t been myself. I haven’t truly been well enough to work, and my health has continued to decline to a point that can no longer be ignored.

Following medical advice, I’m temporarily closing the studio to give myself the time and space I need to truly rest and recover — so I can return and reopen the Hive happy, healthy, and fully myself again.

for those waiting on pottery…

With support, all pottery will still be processed and fired; I will not be able to truly rest until everything is up to date.

If you have an item that needs to be fired for a particular date, please text 07863 997422 with that information.

All other pottery will be fired and texts sent to arrange collections as soon as possible, but this will take a little time.

when will you reopen?

Ultimately I can not reopen until I’m truly well enough to do so.

When I’m confident I’m ready:

  • the website will be restored to normal

  • I’ll make an announcement on social media

  • personally text all customers still to collect pottery

All queries about future bookings, when we will reopen etc can not be answered at this time; I don’t know when I will be ready to reopen or take bookings.

When the studio is reopen, we will be open to all queries relating to future business.
